Lewis and Clark College is nestled in the woods above downtown Portland, a four-year liberal arts college with a beautiful campus. Last year, they built a new dorm building, a LEED Gold certified building called the Edna Holmes Residence Hall.
Amy Dvorak, Sustainability Manager at Lewis and Clark College, explained the concept behind the books. “This book was developed by students for students.” Students led interviews with the building’s design team in order to develop the content, she said.
There are quotes from the design team and campus leaders, and places to muse on concepts relating to sustainability. Part workbook, part guidebook, these Scout Books help tell a story and engage students in a new cornerstone of the campus community.
