Rapha House is a non-profit humanitarian organization that works to end child slavery and exploitation around the globe. Their international headquarters is in Joplin, Missouri, but their work is primarily in Southeast Asia, where they operate a number of group homes where rescued girls can live safely in a healing and loving environment.

These custom Scout Books feature drawings made by some of the girls that Rapha House has helped in Southeast Asia. The books were designed by Mindy Lee, who works with Rapha House and recently traveled to Cambodia. Mindy writes, “The girls LOVE to color and we sat around in a huge circle, each with their own Scout Books, and drew our hearts out! It was magical.”

Mindy explained that her cover design was created from drawings the girls made earlier this year, and her hope was to communicate “how bright and creative these girls are despite their terrible histories.” Rapha House works with young girls who have suffered from human trafficking and abuse, and gives them a new hope for a happy and safe life. The organization writes that their programs exist to “extend unconditional love to girls” who have been rescued out of exploitation.

Creative people who enjoy drawing, writing and sketching in a notebook know that the artistic process can be transformative, and can often be therapeutic. Scout Books is so pleased that our humble print format has been implemented by Rapha House in a healing and emotional restoration process that creates new futures for children. Please consider supporting Rapha House in their noble endeavors! Their informative website offers a number of ways you can help.
