Rckt is a small digital agency based in the UK. Although most of their work is in pixels, they do love a good notebook.
The studio designed the Scout Books as promotional items for clients, and to send out as thank you gifts with project launches. Nick Crossland, senior online producer, explains the concepts behind the books: “Since we’re all about creative, original thinking, we came to the conclusion that it should feature lots of big ideas from history – some earth-shattering, some trivial – but all huge in their own special way.”

Rckt sends the Scout Books out in matching recycled-paper bags, “to make them feel even more special when people receive them.”
Although currently unavailable for purchase, Rckt plans to introduce the books into their shop alongside their popular Printsta photoalbum, a square album designed for Instagram and Hipstamatic prints.

There’s a funny story that came up with these books, Crossland explains. “It wasn’t until after the books came back from print with a promotional leaflet tucked inside the box that we realized we’d been undermining our claims of original thinking by using the same phrase, “Little books for big ideas” as Scout Books use in their marketing! Luckily their legal department haven’t been onto us yet.”
(Don’t worry guys, it’s all good!)
