Clibe is an interactive app that lets you share the creative pages of your notebook with your community—in the cloud.

“Think of your current paper books as shareable and collaborative. That’s Clibe.”

Clibe is a cloud library that allows its community of users to organize and share their library of creative talents and big ideas ordinarily contained within the pages of a notebook. Stories, notes, drawings and more are uploaded to the cloud and then synced with an iPad, ensuring users always have access to their creative libraries.

Clibe recently printed up these tangible pocket notebooks as a way to promote their creative digital service. The Scout Books were printed in Scout Book Orange and Black, matching up with Clibe’s branding. Information about downloading Clibe for your iPad is on the back.

What makes Clibe different from a regular notebook? Surely we all keep our filled notebooks safely on a shelf or in a box under the bed, hanging out as a library of our creative processes. Well, Clibe allows you to keep those ideas with you, at all times.

Oh yes, there’s a social aspect to the whole thing: Clibe users can follow books that pique their interest. These chosen books will be downloaded onto the iPad and synced automatically as new pages are added. What’s more is that users can choose to make their projects collaborative, allowing others to share and edit into a single location.

Roberto Tagliabue from Clibe explained how they used the Scout Book: “We wanted to have a common ground to build on top. LOOK at this little booklet. Ok, now think about if other people can have a perfect copy of it, always updated, and you can start to doodle on it all together and collaborate on your project.”

Clibe distributed the notebooks at the 2011 IDSA International Conference in New Orleans, the theme of which was Community. Perfect. Clibe operates at the intersection of creativity and community, using the notebook as a vehicle for collaboration and innovation. Check out the Top Journals section to see the most popular content.

Wow! Is this the future of the notebook?
