Jessie Bazata and Marco Kaye used the Scout Book as the centerpiece of their wedding invitation.
Jessie Bazata and Marco Kaye were married this fall at a vineyard on Long Island, surrounded by family, friends, food, wine and Scout Books.
Bazata and Kaye are creative people (she’s designer, he’s a creative director), and so they set out to develop a fun and information-rich wedding invitation. Their charming suite included a number of print pieces nestled together to create a memorable invite, and this custom-interior Scout Book was the centerpiece.

The Scout Book is entitled, “Jessie and Marco: Growing Together.” Its 32 interior pages contain a selection of content written from both Jessie and Marco’s points of view. The introduction to the mini booklet reads:
Jessie wanted me to write down our story, since I’m “the writer” and all, but I didn’t want it to come from one perspective. I wrote down different topics, and then we retreated to separate rooms and wrote out our responses. It was fun to see how our stories diverged and connected. And fun to make Jessie do some of my work! We hope you enjoyed reading it as much as we enjoyed writing it. —Marco

Their chapters cover such topics as “On Meeting For The First Time,” and “On Each Other’s Quirks.” Dates, times and directions for the wedding are enclosed in the pages titled “Our Wedding Details.” The texts are accompanied by charming info-graphics and spot illustrations, all lovingly crafted by the creative duo. At the end is a special recipe section featuring their favorite drinks and eats.

A chipboard pocket-postcard stepped in as the RSVP card, printed in matching Scout Book Navy ink. The chipboard invitations were tucked into a sparkly navy blue envelope and hand-addressed in striking opaque white lettering.
What better way to commemorate such a special day than with a tangible, lasting piece of print? These two embraced the format to tell their story, and their wedding guests will be able to cherish this pocket-sized symbol of their union of years to come.
